Test the brake:

The brake switch disables the brake that holds the Z motor from falling when the machine is not powered.

The brake switch on all modern systems is a 12mm/.5″ round black momentary pushbutton switch on the front of the control box. On older systems, it is a labeled rocker switch.

When the system is enabled, the brake switch does nothing.

When the system is powered up but disabled, the brake switch disengages the brake.

If a brake motor is getting hot or suffering from position errors, it may be wise to Test the brake.
